Rocky, weathered steps lead up to a landing large enough to accommodate multiple minis. One more step, and you arrive at a smaller landing and the main focal point of the piece (what we think of as the actual "altar" part of the Altar of Chaos - but you can define it however you want). Three looming rocky outcroppings overshadow the "altar" and obscure line of sight from behind.
 
The Grimdark version boasts a liberal distribution of skulls, spikes, and spiked wheel features. Each spike, skull, and wheel has been placed individually to ensure that each size is a true work of art.
