When you place an order for printed pieces, you have three options that you can choose from:
Unpainted - Prints that come straight off the printer (you have a few choices of what color filament you'd like them printed in).
Basic Themes – A solid basecoat of paint, with one or more layers of dry brushing to highlight textures and details.
Deluxe Themes - In addition to being fully painted, these are finished with a combination of flock, grass tufts, and other materials to create immersive, premium quality terrain.
Our terrain pieces are 3D printed with a type of plastic filament called PLA. From there, they can be painted and finished using a variety of techniques and materials used with traditional terrain crafting.
Smaller pieces are normally printed as a single piece. Other pieces are printed in two or more parts and can be easily assembled using superglue. Unpainted pieces will require assembly. If you order pieces painted in a Basic Theme or Deluxe theme, they will come fully assembled.
For all of our models, we recommend a layer height of .15-.25 mm and a 5-7% infill. For any models in the Grimdark series, we recommend using the same infill, but a layer height of .15mm or less, as they have such a high number of intricate details.
Terrain pieces vary greatly in size, from small outcroppings to large hills that can cover a significant portion of your table. The pieces are designed to work with 28mm-32mm miniatures, but most are suitable for use with smaller or larger scales. Furthermore, if you purchase STL files, you can scale the pieces up or down as you see fit.
Yes! 3D printed terrain is durable and relatively lightweight. Care should be taken when handling painted pieces, but they will stand up well to normal tabletop gaming use. In fact, our terrain pieces are actually more durable than terrain pieces crafted from more traditional materials (foam, cardboard, etc.).
Yes, you can! Our crafting team loves hearing your ideas and innovating to make them reality. Contact us so we can discuss what you would like us to make. Small alterations (requesting a different color of paint or foliage, for example), are typically free. For entirely new themes or new design elements, there will usually be an additional fee to cover the time and cost to develop the theme, which can vary based on how much work will be involved to create it. We may choose to add new themes developed this way to our selection of available themes for other customers to order, which means that other people can benefit from your creative vision!
Yes you can! Contact us so we can discuss what you would like us to make. There will be an additional fee to cover the cost to design the piece(s), which varies based on how much design work will be required. Please note that new terrain pieces created for custom orders are the intellectual property of Terrainify, which means that we may add them to our selection of models so that other folks can purchase them. By commissioning custom pieces, you're not only making your own game table more awesome, but other gamers' as well!

Unfortunately, our site software will not allow customers to enter more than one discount code at a time. At Terrainify.com, we are using the term "pre-order" for placing and paying for an order that has a delayed and/or flexible shipping date. All our products are 3D printed and hand-painted with care and attention to detail in our private workshop. We offer pre-orders for products when we anticipate that we will need additional time and flexibility to give your order the time it deserves.
Before ordering, check the pre-order page to see when we are currently estimating orders will be shipped. This shipping estimate will be updated frequently as we receive more orders, so be sure to double-check it before placing your order. This is a shipping date estimate, not a guarantee.
Once you place your order and complete payment, you will receive a confirmation email from us as usual. If we need to adjust the shipping date for your order after you place it, we will alert you via email.
